Prez Receives Dagbon Report

The Committee of Eminent Chiefs working on the Dagbon crises will present their recommendations to the President Nana Akufo Addo at Jubilee House today.

The report is expected to focus on how to achieve a lasting and peaceful end to the Dagbon crises.

Over a decade now the parties have been engaging on how to find peace at the feet of the eminent chiefs.

Clashes between the two gates- the Andani and Abudu Gates, in Yendi from March 25-27, 2002, resulted in the death of the Dagbon Overlord, Ya Na Yakubu Andani II and dozens of others.

Upon assuming power, President Akufo-Addo has injected resources, time and commitment into the decade long process. He has also assisted in providing the necessary assurances that have taken out the suspicions that prolonged a peaceful resolution to the matter.

The President is expected to take steps to facilitate the implementation of recommendations that will lead to peace in Dagbon.
