Price of Sachet Water Goes Up
The National Association of Sachet and Package Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced an increase in the prices of sachet water.
A bag of sachet water sold in depots, which cost GH¢3.00 would from November 12, be sold at GH¢ 3.50p
This was announced in a statement signed and issued yesterday by Kwame Agyapon Ntra, the National Director, Corporate Affairs of NASPAWAP.
The price review, according to the statement, has been necessitated by the rising cost of production and distribution.
“The leadership of NASPAWAP in consultation with all regional associations of sachet water producers announces for the information of the general public that the price of a bag of sachet water will go up to 3.50p,” the statement read.
However, the price of sachet water remains at 30 pesewas.
This means, Ghanaians would spend additional 10 pesewas on sachet which is currently sold at 20 pesewas from Monday.
Meanwhile, the Eastern regional producers of sachet water have stated that the increment is as a result of the depreciation of the cedi against the dollar, and also an increase in fuel prices.
“We buy fuel for our cars used in distributing the bags of sachet water to our customers. We also repair the cars. All these have gone up,” according to them.
