Some workers of the Electoral Commission who petitioned Chief Justice Sophia Akufo over the removal of Charlotte Osei as EC boss, are now pushing for her prosecution.
According to the petitioners, removal should not be all but rather prosecute her to the appropriate quarters for all the punishment she deserve be upon her.
Mrs Osei was removed by President Akufo-Addo in accordance with the recommendations of the Chief Justice’s committee for breaching procurement laws and procedures including her two deputies.
Their removal was based on incompetence and mis – management of public office.
But the petitioners this time round are securing and calling for her to be prosecuted because to them, they have enough evidence against Madam Charlotte Osei on damaging her office as EC Chairperson.
Speaking on behalf of the petitioners at a news conference, Rabiu Sulemana, claimed there were many other contracts that were awarded in breach of the procurement laws for which she must be prosecuted.
“We have seen the removal of Madam Charlotte Osei, we like it, it makes us happy, but that’s not enough, she needs to be prosecuted “- he said.
Editor-In-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, on Newsfile two weeks ago questioned the quality of the petition as he alleged that the committee found that one of them was dead but the 17 people petitioners rejected such claims and call it false.
