Men that have the habit of releasing their libido on commercial sex workers have been warned to quit that habit. This is because the security agencies have disclosed that most of the prostitutes are informants for hardened criminals.
According to reliable information from the state security, many commercial sex workers usually give vivid information of their unsuspecting clients to robbers to attack them later on.
The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, who is the head of the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), made this disclosure to journalists in an interaction recently.
Addressing the Ashanti Regional version of the Meet-The-Press programme, he cautioned that people who patronize prostitutes are putting their lives in danger.
“The prostitutes are dangerous because they can give information about you to robbers to rob you later in your homes”, he sternly warned.
Simon Osei Mensah said prostitution is outlawed in the country and as such anybody found indulging in it would be arrested.
He disclosed that that some prostitutes, who are foreigners, have been arrested recently and have been sent back into their home countries.
The minister lamented that the presence of prostitutes on the streets of Kumasi at night served as bad influence on the youth, stressing that it is appalling.
He noted that the security agencies have vowed to embark on regular swoops at known prostitutes bases in regional capital.
According to him, men that would be caught patronizing commercial sex workers in the city would be apprehended alongside their female partners in crime.
The minister was of the view that the prostitution business would collapse in Kumasi if the men decide not to patronize the illegal business.
