Quit NDC If Tired
…Victor Smith Tells Rawlings
The Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Jerry John Rawlings, has been told to quit for good and desist from any further public comments if his love for the party has declined.
Former Eastern Regional Minister, Ambassador Victor Smith, gave the marching orders and said Jerry Rawlings’ recent public comments are injurious to the electoral fortunes of the NDC.
“If the party leadership does not do anything about it, then we will have a very tall order…if they do not do anything about it to have the problem resolved now, it will be very difficult for us to win [the 2020 election].
“When I say we should deal with him [Rawlings], I mean they [NDC leadership] have to stop him [Rawlings] from doing what he is doing…his remarks have been creating problems within our party. If the party leadership does not rectify it now for the progress of the party, then there is a possibility that we may not win 2020 election,” Victor Smith noted in an interview on Asempa FM’s ‘Ekosii Sen’ on Monday.
Mr. Smith added: “If your love for the party has declined just leave the party.”
He was emphatic that if the NDC does not ‘tame’ Rawlings from further pubic attacks, it would be disastrous for the party.
Jerry Rawlings, in his characteristic outburst, recently said publicly that the NDC currently is being led by persons who have no integrity.
He has over the years remained rather critical of the party and even when the NDC was in government, he insisted a good number of its appointees were overly corrupt.
