President Akufo-Addo has charged new Ghana Football Association President Kurt Okraku to stick to his principles and revive Ghana football.
According to him, such initiative when implemented would bring back the good old days of football glory to the country.
“You have to know that, so long as I’m on this seat, you have my support by the way you want to take Ghana football; hopefully it’s the same place I want to see it. It’s not right that so many years have passed before we won the great cups again.
“We need to go back to the winning ways that used to characterized our football. You have a big task and a lot of goodwill; build on it,” Nana Addo made this known during a meeting on Wednesday at the Jubilee House.
Mr Okraku on his part assured Nana Akufo-Addo that he will do his utmost best to restore the dwindling fortunes of Ghana football in the shortest possible time.
The new FA boss was accompanied by his wife, Rebecca Okraku , the Sports Minister, Isaac Kwame Asiamah among other dignitaries.
Kurt Okraku was elected Ghana Football Association President on Friday, replacing Kwesi Nyantakyi, who resigned and was subsequently banned following a documentary exposing corruption in Ghana football in June 2018.
