Authorities of the Kumasi Cheshire Home, a rehabilitation center, has lauded Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka ‘Napo’, the MP for Manhyia South Constituency, for his kindness to the residents of the home.
According to them, Napo, who doubles as the Minister of Education, has for many years, been donating handsomely to help support in the upkeep of residents of the home and so they are eternally grateful to him.
“Such a time, in the era of a lockdown that many people contemplate on what they can save for their family and friends, hardly will anyone come out to help us, but you have honoured your spiritual and social obligations to the poor.
“May I remind you that this is not the first time the Home has enormously benefitted from your benevolence. We pray that God richly reward you”, Mr. Owusu Adjei, Administrator Kumasi Cheshire Home, said to Napo.
The Manhyia South NPP Lawmaker had just donated bags of rice and gallons of cooking oil to the Kumasi Cheshire Home so that management of the home would be able to take care of the residents.
Describing Napo as the number one donor of the home, Mr. Owusu Adjei stated that Napo had consistently supported the home in diverse ways, adding that Napo’s extraordinary love for the home beats his imagination.
Napo, in his remarks, stated that the donation was part of his efforts to support both the residents and officials of the home so that they would survive the lockdown, occasioned by the deadly Covid-19.
He said the donation was also in fulfilment of his social and spiritual obligation of periodically lending a helping hand to the needy in society, adding that the Holy Bible says it is blessed to give than to receive “so I will continue to support this Home”.
