Self-acclaimed dancehall King, Charles Nii Armah Mensah popularly known as Shatta wale made history on Saturday, at the ‘Reign’ album concert in the wee hours of Sunday morning by selling out the Fantasy dome in Accra.
It is recorded that over 19,270 audiences mostly fans of the artiste, music lovers, supporters and industry players were in attendance to experience the launch of his second studio album.
Zylofon Arts Club Artists, Zylo and Efe keyz were the opening acts, whiles Medikal and music duo Keche also came through to support.
Award-winning Disk Jockey, DJ Vyrusky, was the man behind the turntable.
The self-acclaimed dancehall king mounted the stage at 11pm and entertained the crowd with some tracks on his “Reign” album.
During his performance, the Shatta Movement boss complained about how his colleague musicians seem to be fighting him over ‘his successes’ and outspoken truth about their lifestyles and the ‘shitty’ industry.
A tearful Shatta Wale indicated that his journey has not been rosy, stressing that many have always wished he fails, whiles in that expression of talk, it got emotional which made him cry and run off the stage.
“The way this Ghana music industry make I suffer… I suffer for Ghana too much; nobody for try me. Nobody for worry me for Ghana. Dem no go fit me, I swear. Why me alone, everybody dey fight me?” he queried
His baby mama, Shatta Michy, once again had the chance to exhibit her prowess with singles back to back including ’Spend Di money’, her latest release.
She also went home as a promised woman as Shatta Wale popped the big question and sealed it with a promise ring.
Shatta Wale is one of the most influential musicians in the history of Ghana. He represents a new generation that believes you have the power to change the situation without waiting for anybody. He trades his music career under Shatta movement and Zylofon music; one of the few promising record labels in the Country.
The ‘Reign’ album has seventeen tracks.
According to the artiste, although he loves all the songs on the album, his favourite is Exodus because it is inspired by his real life struggles.
