Richie will do great at MUSIGA – Eazzy

Hip-hop artiste, Eazzy has said her former boss Richie Mensah will do a great job when given the chance to lead MUSIGA after the tenure of President Obour.

Incumbent President Bice Osei Kuffour is set to see out his second term in office and as a result, June 26 has been set aside to elect a new head.

Among those aspiring to lead MUSIGA, Eazzy real name Mildred Ashong believes Richie stands tall on the basis of how well he has managed talents in the Industry. 

She believes that entrusted with the position of the MUSIGA President, Richie will excel by bringing his expertise to bare.

”Richie is intelligent, very smart and music oriented person. I know Richie as one person who will champion music to the highest platform. Richie is unstoppable, he can do a great job at MUSIGA. I support the idea. With the works he has done over the years, it is worth it to secure a leadership position at MUSIGA to see better welfare of musicians” she said in an interview with Lexis Bill on Joy FM.

Eazzy told Lexis she still has a very good relationship with her former manager Richie Mensah and the guys at Lynx. “There is no bad blood, we are all very cool,” she stated.

Meanwhile MUSIGA has set up a five-member committee that will supervise its national elections in June.

The committee has Smart Nkansah as its chairman, with former MUSIGA president Diana Hopeson as secretary. It also has Rev. Dr Mary Ghansah, Lawyer Jonathan Cudjoe and Trigmatic.

The committee will supervise the filing and the nomination processes and take care of vetting those who will hope to occupy the various position. It will also work with the Electoral Commission of Ghana to ensure a free and fair election.

Richie is likely to face stiff competition from veteran highlife musician Bessa Simmons who has served as Vice President of MUSIGA for 8 years.
