FIVE SUSPECTED robbers, believed to nomads and with links to the recent robbery at the Bosofour Total Filling Station at Asante Mampong, have been nabbed by the police.
The suspects include Inusah Brimah, Iddrisu Amidu aka ‘Jogo’, 34 years-old, Hamidu Zonogor, aged 48, Kofi Bukari, nicknamed as ‘Mipellar, 42-years-old and Musah Haruna.
Inusah Braimah was the first to be arrested by the police and he, upon interrogation, admitted to the crime. He later led the police to apprehend his other accomplices, who are currently assisting in investigations.
All five suspects have admitted they were part of a six-man gang that attacked the filling station on Friday, March 2, 2018, around 6:30pm, the police have said.
In that robbery expedition, the robbers fired gunshots as they made away with an amount of GH¢11,000 and five assorted mobile phones. They, in the process, wounded the manager of the station, one Davies Frimpong.
The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, COP Ken Yeboah, addressing the media, said the police intensified their patrol duties after the robbery and they eventually spotted Inusah Braimah and one other person in a taxi cab.
According to him, the other suspect, upon seeing the police, quickly got down from the taxi and escaped, but the police managed to apprehend Inusah, who subsequently helped to grab the rest.
