IN WHAT can be likened to a scene in a Hollywood action movie, a man has been shot dead in the full glare of the public.
The heartbreaking incident happened on Monday afternoon at Atonsu, in the Asokwa Municipality in the Ashanti Region.
The deceased, identified as Maxwell Awetor, a resident of Ahinsan, in the Asokwa Municipality, gave up the ghost instantly.
He suffered his sad fate a few minutes after he had left a bank, where he had done some transactions. The robbers took away his money.
The lifeless body had since been deposited in the morgue for autopsy after medical personnel had pronounced him dead after checks.
Maxwell, believed to be 36 years old, according to eyewitnesses reports, might have been murdered because of his money.
According to reports, Maxwell was in possession of a brown envelope, which was containing an undisclosed amount of money.
The robbers, who were secretly monitoring Maxwell, shot him in his neck, snatched away his brown envelope in the public and fled.
The hoodlums, reportedly, vanished into thin air with a motorbike. Awetor, who was bleeding profusely, was sent to the hospital.
Medical personnel tried to save Maxwell’s life but it was too late as he gave up the ghost. The police are chasing the hoodlums.
