Shaqueel van Persie, son of former Arsenal and Manchester United forward, Robin van Persie, has earned a call-up to the Dutch u17 squad. The young van Persie has been in excellent form with 16 goals in 13 games for the Feyenoord u17 side.
Shaqueel was born in London in 2006 during his father’s time at Arsenal, however, he started his youth career with Manchester City during the latter part of his father’s time in England. He then followed his father to Turkey for a brief spell at Fernebache before returning to the Netherlands to play for his father’s childhood side Feyernoord
Shaqueel is also left-footed like his father and plays primarily as a striker but has been known to play on either flank. Shaqueel is considered one of the finest talents at the famed Varkenoord academy and will be looking to follow in the steps of his father, Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Georginio Wijnaldum amongst others.
