ROTARY CLUB GREENS KUMASI
THE KUMASI Metropolitan Assembly’s (KMA) flagship programme ‘Operation Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ has received a massive boost.
The Rotary Club of Kumasi has joined the crusade to help the KMA to realize their ambition of restoring Kumasi’s ‘Garden City’ status once again.
Led by their President, Ing Nana Poku Agyeman, members of the Rotary Club of Kumasi embarked on a tree planting exercise in Kumasi on Saturday.
The members of the Rotary Club planted different species of trees in some vantage parts of Kumasi to help make the place look green.
The Kumasi Mayor, Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi led a team from the KMA to team up with the Rotary Club members as they planted the trees.
Ing Nana Poku Agyeman told the media that “when the last tree dies, the last man dies”, stressing the strong need to make Kumasi look green again.
He said the KMA, in particular the Kumasi Mayor, have done well by introducing the ‘Operation Keep Kumasi Clean and Green’ campaign to beautify the city.
Ing Nana Poku Agyeman assured that members of the Rotary Club would play leading roles so that Kumasi would recapture its ‘Garden City’ status once again.
