Director of Electoral Service at the Electoral Commission of Ghana Dr. Serebour Quaicoe has charged various security agencies deployed to supervise the conduct of the December 7 polls to avoid persons without nose masks getting closer to polling centres.
The commission said this is a measure to curb the spread of COVID-19 during the polls.
Speaking in an interview, Dr. Serebour Quaicoe said officers should ensure that persons who show up to vote are in nose masks.
“Anyone who does not wear nose mask needs to be arrested even before he/she gets to the polling station”
“The reality of the matter is that your rights must not violate the responsibility of others. The law states that, you are not supposed to go outside your home without wearing nose mask therefore you would not be allowed to vote without nose mask”, he stressed.
He continued saying, “what I’m trying to say is that you are not even supposed to come out without, nose mask you have to be arrested because the law make is clear”.
