FROM ALL indications people who engage in criminal activities in Kumasi, especially armed robbers and thieves will face a perpetual hard time soon.
The Kumasi Mayor, Sam Pyne, has declared war on them, as has promised to make it difficult for the criminals to operate.
According to the Kumasi Mayor, he has observed that the hoodlums usually operate in dark places in the boisterous city at night.
And in order to stop the criminals from operating, Sam Pyne has decided to fix street lights and illuminate the city during night times.
“It is my desire to see all places in the city well lit at night so we can completely eliminate the nasty thievery that happens in some areas”, the Mayor stated.
According to Sam Pyne, his administration has already started lighting up most of the places that looks dark in the night to stop criminals.
Speaking on radio, he mentioned the Central Business District (CBD) and Asafo as some of the places that have been lighten up at night.
According to him, aside stopping criminals from operating, the streetlights would also go a long way to beautify the city, especially at night.
