Sam Pyne’s Opponent Debunks Sponsorship Report
Kwaku Atta, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) member, who is contesting Sam Pyne, for the Ashanti Regional Secretary position of the party, has debunked reports that some gurus in the party are sponsoring him financially.
According to him, there is no truth in the wild reports that some kingpins in the party, who do not like the incumbent NPP scribe are resourcing him (Kwaku Atta) to kick Sam Pyne out of office, this year.
“Nobody is sponsoring me to contest Sam Pyne for the Ashanti Regional NPP Secretary position”, he stated and added that, “I know I have the competence and the expertise to defeat Sam Pyne and that is why I am contesting”.
Kwaku Atta said Sam Pyne had failed woefully in performing his duties as the party’s chief scribe in Ashanti region―which is the ruling political party’s stronghold and that, “he Sam Pyne knows it. He can’t deny this fact”.
Sam Pyne has served as the NPP chief scribe for two consecutive terms and it was initially believed that he would be contesting as the Ashanti Regional NPP Secretary of the ruling political party unopposed.
Suddenly, from nowhere, one Kwaku Atta, who is virtually unknown in the party in the Ashanti Region, had popped up to contest Sam Pyne for the enviable party position, when the NPP goes to the polls next month.
The sudden emergence of Kwaku Atta to contest Sam Pyne has generated reports that some party gurus in Ashanti region, including some current regional executives, are sponsoring Kwaku Atta.
But Kwaku Atta, who was speaking on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, stated that there is no iota of truth in rumour.
