Samartex 1996 FC has officially signed Samuel Boateng from Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club on loan.
The loan deal runs to the end of the 2022-2023 season and Boateng is expected to boost Samreboi based team’s attack.
25 year old Boateng scored four goals in Kotoko’s Ghana Premier League title winning campaign as part of a unit that featured Cameroonian imports Franck Mbella Etouga and Georges Mfegue.
However, Boateng has had a tough time getting minutes this season featuring in seven league games without scoring. He has just one start to his credit this season despite being part of all 13 Kotoko league games.
Boateng can operate as a left winger and joins a Samartex team making its debut in Ghana’s top flight division.
Samartex has scored just eight goals in 13 league games this season and has conceded 10 goals; Samartex ranks 16th in the 18 team league standings.
The team has recorded the most drawn games (7) in the league and profligacy is the reason behind most draw results.
Samartex takes on in-form King Faisal on Sunday, January 29 in Samreboi at 15:00 GMT; a four game unbeaten run has pushed King Faisal to 11th place.
