Samir Bastie Eyes World Title
Few hours after finishing off Braimah Kamoko, a.k.a ‘Bukom Banku’ at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Samir Bastie, announced his ambition to become a world champion.
“I want to be a world champion; that is my ambition for now and I will seriously train towards achieving that”, the hard-hitting pugilist said.
The latest ‘darling boy’ on the Ghanaian boxing scene hinted he is hungry for more successes in the ring, especially on the bigger internal stage, now that he had defeated Bukom Banku.
“I will intensify my training now and I am hopeful that latest by the middle of 2018 I will get a world title bout”, the soft-spoken boxer said.
According to him, his convincing drubbing of ‘Banku’ would not make him complacent; stressing the victory would rather spur him on to higher heights.
“The victory over Bukom Banku is just the beginning. Now my focus is to be a world champion and definitely I will achieve that”, he stressed.
Commenting on his recent seventh-round knockout victory over Kamoko, Bastie said: “Banku insulted me prior to the bout, and I wanted to punish him in the ring”.
He noted that the foul-mouthed Braimah was sacred of him ahead of their historic clash, hence his weird decision to resort to insults and insinuations before the contest.
