SECOND LADY, Samira Bawumia, has accused former President John Mahama, of practicing nepotism, whilst in political office.
According to her, Mr. Mahama wanted to keep all national assets for himself and his family at the detriment of the majority of Ghanaians that voted for him. Samira did not add any form of evidence to prove her accusations against the former president.
Citing an example to buttress her claim, she alleged that John Mahama was in the process of handing over the Nyinahin Bauxite to his brother before the 2016 elections.
She said, unfortunately for John Mahama, and luckily for Ghanaians, President Nana Akufo-Addo assumed the mantle of leadership in 2016 and stopped the process.
“Mr. Mahama wanted his brother alone to enjoy from this great national asset and become rich as the rest of the citizenry suffered but God saved us with Nana Akufo-Addo” Samira said.
She added that “when a certain president came, he gave all Ghana’s Bauxite to his brother, but President Akufo-Addo changed the narrative for all Ghanaians to benefit”.
The Second Lady was addressing a sizeable number of NPP members during the inauguration of the Ashanti Regional NPP Women’s Wing Campaign Committee.
Held at the Center for National Culture in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital on Saturday, the historic programme was very well attended by NPP members.
Touching on the upcoming elections, scheduled for December 7, Samira said it is in the interest of Ghanaians to retain the NPP in political office to continue their good works.
Samira sternly warned that voting for the NDC is an endorsement of hardship, poverty and retrogression of the country so the electorates should reject the NDC.
She said the NDC compounded the problems of the citizenry during their eight years stay in political office so the electorates should not return the NDC into power.
According to her, President Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia have chalked massive successes for the country and so they should be retained to complete their works.
Samira predicted that another term for the NPP would see massive progress in all sectors of the country, reiterating her call for the electorates to vote for the NPP in the polls.
Nana Ama Ampomah, the Ashanti Regional NPP Women’s Organizer, in her brief address, called for total unity and oneness among NPP members scattered across the 16 regions.
According to her, the NPP would easily retain political power with even higher margin of votes if the party members stayed united and campaigned vigorously.
