Samira Starts NPP 2020 Campaign
SAMIRA BAWUMIA, the wife of Vice President, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, seems to have started the 2020 election campaign the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti region (NPP).
The Second Lady has stated emphatically that it is possible that the Ashanti Regional NPP can snatch the three orphan seats in the region, which are now being occupied by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
She has consequently tasked NPP members in the Ashanti region to embrace peace, unity and hard work, stressing that definitely the NDC seats at Asawase, Sekyere Afram Plain and Ejura, would fall for the NPP in 2020.
Samira Bawumia was speaking during a ground-breaking ceremony in Kumasi to officially kick-start the construction of a multi-purpose office complex for the Ashanti Regional branch of the ruling political party.
Dubbed the ‘Baffuor Osei Akoto Office Complex’, the project is being constructed to honour the late Baffuor Akoto, a former Chief Linguist of the Asantehene, for his contributions for the United Party (UP), which gave birth to the NPP.
Samira Bawumia lauded President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for his determination and hard work to transform the country within a short time, urging the people to remain hopeful that the NPP government would deliver.
According to her, the government had taken pragmatic decisions and programmes to transform the economy, adding that by the end of President Akufo-Addo’s first term in office the people would have experienced his good works.
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, also said definitely the NDC seats at Asawase, Ejura and Sekyere Afram Plains would all be grabbed by the NPP during the 2020 polls, which is fast approaching.
