From Ho
The people of Adorfe, a farming suburb of Ashanti-Kpoeta in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, can now heave a sigh of relief, following the construction of an access road and a bridge for the community.
With the execution of these projects, particularly the bridge, residents are salvaged from the perennial inability to across a stream that overflowed its banks and separated them from the other parts of the country during raining seasons.
This annual interruption of movement really had a toll on the economic fortunes of the predominantly farming community, as farm produce got stuck in the area and perished, thus robbing them of their investments.
However, these post harvest losses are expected to reduce significantly, since goods and services can now be transported to marketing centers without hindrance.
The projects were financed single-handedly by the Businessman and Philanthropist, Samuel Kofi Dzidulali Danku.
Prior to the provision of both amenities, the only access route to the beneficiary community was a foot path, which was completely unmotorable.
On a tour to find out the state of work done on these projects as well as a similar one at Dzolo-Gborgame, Mr. Danku expressed delight in the quality of work and the completion of the projects on schedule.
With the expedient execution of the projects, the Philanthropist was glad that the age-old suffering associated with the lack of motorable access to the beneficiary communities, had been put to an end.
Mr. Danku added that he remained unfazed by the schemes of some few elements within the society, whose only objective was to dampen his spirit by casting a slur on his people-centered projects and initiatives, but warned that such attitudes were inimical to the progress of the area.
An opinion leader of Adorfe, who pleaded anonymity, was full of appreciation to Mr. Danku, describing him as ” a man with a clear mind and pure heart”.
He asked for God’s blessings for him in all endeavours of life.
The Dzolo-Gborgame project encompasses the grading of about one and half kilometers stretch of road, spanning from the old cemetery to Torgodo.
