Ghana’s celebrated rapper, Sarkodie has called on government to open its border to human traffic to allow her citizens stuck in other countries’ entry.
Sarkodie is reportedly in the United Kingdom where he went for business with his family but cannot return to him home country because of the directive by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
The rapper could not make it back into the country before restrictions were placed on movements in some places and also borders of the country were closed.
Congratulating the President for his good work in handling the pandemic maturely, the rapper also pleaded with him to ensure citizens of Ghana who are stuck in other countries return home.
He tweeted, “Mr president @NAkufoAddo you’ve done so well with how you handling this pandemic, we appreciate your effort But please can we open the borders for at least a day or two in between time for citizens stuck outside to get back pls.”
Sarkodie is not the first artiste to plead with the government of Ghana to help come back to Ghana. Pappy Kojo who is also stuck in Italy has pleaded to be airlifted to Ghana.
To him, he’s running out of stock of food and would be appreciative of the government if he’s been airlifted back to Ghana.
But the Tourism Minister in responding to him then said it’s impossible for the government to give people preferential treatment in this period when the world is fighting the deadly Coronavirus.
