Shatta Wale has been enstooled as ‘Dancehall Naa’ ( Dancehall King ) by the chief and people of Tamale ahead of his much talked about Reign regional tour.
The ceremony was held at the Dakpema Palace at 2pm (14:00GMT) immediately after Jummah Prayer.
The ‘Amount’ hitmaker touched down at the Tamale Airport mid-Friday morning for the highly publicized “Storm Reign” Concert at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium tomorrow Saturday, June 8, 2019.
Shatta together with ‘Northern Rap god’, Maccasio are expected to thrill patrons with smash hit songs like I Know My Level, Taking Over, Too Big, Koomi Na Chiki (Inside), Kakai, Dem Confuse, Dagomba Girl among others.
Supporting acts are Gaffachi Payment, Onenaira, Flawa Gaskia, Fadi Lan and others.
Shatta Wale formerly Bandana made his debut with ‘Moko Hoo’ with Tinny in 2004.
He also had other hit songs like ‘Obaa Yaa’ and ‘No Problem.’ These were fairly successful songs but he was not a household name like he is today.
Shatta Wale’s rise from oblivion to stardom is as a result of the controversies he generates, music with catchy melodies, loyal fan base, high sense of humour and the media’s responsiveness to his craft are causes of his present fortunes.
He has won the hearts of a lot of music lovers the world over since his comeback in 2013 when he did a song to insult organisers of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Kaakie.
Since then he has produced songs like ‘Freedom,’ ‘Dancehall King, ‘Kakai,’ ‘Gringo’, ‘My Level’ among others.
