Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy rivalry gone beyond music beef – Kofi Jamar

Ghanaian musician from Kumasi, Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh popularly called Kofi Jamar, has stated that Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy’s rivalry has now become personal and gone beyond music beef and diss songs.

His comment comes after recent attacks by Shatta Wale on Stonebwoy for his inability to perform at the Abeka Sallah event including mocking him for his disability.

Kofi Jamar sharing his opinion said “When you have a beef which is unplanned I think one person will not like the other which would get to a point where it exceeds just music reasons.

“I think that as things continue to unfold in life progressively, sometimes we need to change but previously the beef between Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy was very helpful.

He added, “It has now become personal so from what I’ve observed as a lay person watching from afar I can say the rivalry between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale has become personal.Top of Form I wish it wasn’t like that for them to realize that the beef was helpful sometime ago but now it’s no longer necessary to continue in that trajectory”.

Struggling

He further disclosed how he has been used and dumped by the media in Ghana.

According to the Ekorso hitmaker, he’s struggling to get interviews from the media houses who were chasing him for interviews when he was hot in the music scene.

He said “Let me emphasize this, when Ekorso went viral and the song was everywhere and I remember when a lot of radio and TV stations were chasing me for interviews. Every media house from left and right like we had to make time for all of them cos they’re media houses and personalities we respect them a lot.”

He continued, “And we wanted to establish a long-term relationship with them and here is the case where I don’t have a hit song like Ekorso at the moment. I’m trying to go to those same radio stations and media houses for an interview now and it becomes hard for me, I think that’s where the problem comes from.

“This industry is known for the fact that when you’re coming as a new artiste we have experienced gatekeepers who warn you to be careful of the industry cos if you don’t take care they’ll use you and dump you”.
