Shatta Wale wins GMA-UK Artiste of the Year

Talented dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah was on the night of Saturday, October 7, 2023 full of excitement and joy when he was crowned overall Artiste of the Year at the 2023 edition of the Ghana Music Awards – UK.

The musician beat several others including Black Sherif, Piesie Esther, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and King Promise to win the enviable title.

He also won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year award beating stiff competition from Epixode, and Stonebwoy.

Announcing the win on his Facebook page, Shatta Wale wrote: “Thank you London #GMAUK. You did what Ghana music in Ghana couldn’t do. 80k pounds for performance. Artiste of the year 2023 (Icying on the cake). Shatta Wale is a London boy now !!!”

In another appreciation post, “Injeh Guda. This award. you and Ibrahim Gauwusu will have to keep one. And also Give the Divas Sheila Emefa and her team also 1.
