Premier League team, Sheffield United, is exploring the option of signing the Black Star captain, Andre Ayew.
After the conclusion of the last season, Nottingham Forest released the 33-year-old, making him a free agent.
Andre joined Forest after departing from Al Sadd in Qatar but couldn’t meet the anticipated performance standards despite participating in 13 matches.
Steve Cooper chose not to extend the contract, allowing the 152-goal forward to enter the free market status.
However, there are reports that Sheffield United has initiated talks to acquire the former Olympique Marseille striker.
Indeed, with four matches gone following their return to the Premier League, Paul Heckingbottom’s side have just one point secured in a 2-2 draw against Everton last time out to their name.
Not through want of trying, though, the Blades just lack that necessary quality and know-how needed to survive in the Premier League.
The Blades will offer the veteran frontman a short-term deal themselves to see if he can help them in their quest for Premier League survival at Bramall Lane.
Andre Ayew, who has 114 caps for Ghana has a rich experience in the Premier League having featured for Swansea City and West Ham United.
As a free agent, he is not bound by transfer window restrictions, and clubs from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and MLS are all in pursuit of the U-20 World Cup champion’s signature.
