Radio broadcaster and Tourism Practitioner Abeiku Santana has announced his readiness to quit radio for another love as a passion.
Abeiku Santana, real name Gilbert Aggrey made this known after receiving his honorary award at the just ended 2018 Pan African Executives Summit Awards over the weekend.
According to him, he will be leaving the media soon to pursue a full-time job in the tourism sector.
He was given a Lifetime Achievement Award and Media Personality Award at the Pan-African Republic Honorary Awards at a ceremony held at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC).
Receiving the award, Santana congratulated the organisers, but said, “…I am sorry to announce that very soon I will be saying bye bye to the media because I have found a new love which is tourism which is my way of life. Thank so much Pan-African Republic Honorary Awards for appreciating me.”
The name Abeiku Santana has been firmly rooted in the media world for the past twenty and more years now. His contribution to broadcasting can never be overlooked for a long time to come. But, over the past couple of years, Abeiku divided his time between broadcasting and tourism earning him the name Mr Tourism.
The distinguished broadcaster, Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey as he is originally called, doubles as the CEO of KAYA Tours and Accra-based radio host on Okay FM “Most Outstanding Media Personality”.
The award scheme seeks to identify and give proper recognition through conferment of awards to people whose humanitarian acts have given hope to the hopeless and help to the helpless.
