”Show Good Leadership” …Akufo-Addo Admonishes MMDCEs
METROPOLITAN, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) in the country have been admonished to live acceptable lifestyles, if they want the electorates to have confidence in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and retain the party in power in 2020.
The admonition was given over the weekend by no less a personality than President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, at a training workshop for MMDCEs and other key staffs of the various assemblies, in Kumasi.
“The MMDCEs are my direct representatives in the various Metropolitan, Municipal and Districts, and how you relate to the people will help the party to win more votes.
“I am therefore admonishing you to live in peace with the chiefs, pastors, Imams and other opinion leaders in your various jurisdictions in the interest of the government”.
“In just one-year time, Ghanaians will be going to vote for their next leader, and the way you live with the people will determine the votes that we get”, he said.
He cautioned that any acts of indiscipline and arrogance by MMDCEs could go a long way to make the NPP to lose precious votes during the 2020 elections.
Sounding confident of the next election, however, Nana Akufo-Addo said he had done more than enough for his term to be renewed by four more years.
“On December 7, 2020 I am confident we will give a good account of our stewardship for another term so continue working hard”, the president said with a smile.
The workshop was organized by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
