A barber by name Osei Michael, alias Emeka, is on the run after he was suspected to have killed a second year General Arts female student of the New Nsutam Senior High Technical School in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region last Thursday.
The Police in the area have commenced a manhunt for Emeka while the lifeless body of the victim, Abigail Mirekua Asare, has been deposited at the Kyebi Government Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Reports say the butchered body of the 18-year old student was found in a pool of blood at Emeka’s shop last Friday and he has since not been found.
Though not confirmed with any evidence, shocked residents in the neighborhood allege that Abigail and Emeka were suspected to be lovers and the lady had visited him on the eve of her death.
Her school and many schools are currently on vacation and she was expected to have gone home rather than end up dead in a barber shop.
Early reports say Abigail and Emeka were heard arguing in the shop then later she was heard moaning in pain and calling for help but by then the shop had been locked and Emeka was nowhere to be found.
The police was alerted and when they got to the scene, the broke opened the door only to find the girl already dead.
Another account had it that some people heard Abigail and Emeka in an argument on Thursday night after working hours and on Friday morning when another worker showed up for work he opened the shop only to find the lady dead and then raised an alarm which led to the police coming in to inspect the scene and convey the body to the mortuary.
The school has not commented yet.
