‘Soldier’ Robbers Nabbed
FOUR NOTORIOUS robbers, who usually dress as soldiers to rob unsuspecting victims of their valuables, have been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police Command.
The suspects included Prince Arhin, 28, Emmanuel Kesse, 19, Prince Adjei, 24 and 27-year-old, Kwadwo Sarpong.
The hardened criminals are noted for targeting mining sites, and had succeeded in bolting away with huge amounts of precious minerals.
As part of their modus operandi, reports indicate that they often dress in military uniforms and are armed to the teeth to divert attention.
Several miners in the Ashanti Region are said to have fallen prey to these miscreants in the recent past.
However, luck eluded the ‘soldier’ robbers as the police nabbed them whilst on their way to rob a mining site on Sunday evening.
Acting upon a top-off, the police barricaded the Aboagyekrom road, near Jacobu, and arrested three of the suspects in a car.
The fourth suspect, who was on a motorbike, was later apprehended by the security agents.
Upon a search, a dismantled pump action gun, foreign pistol, disposable rubber handcuffs, plier and cutter were found on them.
The police in the Ashanti Region would arraign the suspects very soon, after they had concluded their investigations.
