The Minister of Health, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye has disclosed that phase one of the Specialist Skills Training Centre is expected to be completed in October 2024.
The Training Centre when completed aims to empower practitioners with the requisite skills and competencies essential for delivering safe and high-quality services to our esteem citizens.
Speaking at the induction of newly qualified medical and dental practitioners in Accra, Dr Boye highlighted the government’s efforts to secure funding for phase two of the project through engagements with the World Bank and other stakeholders.
Dr Boye said, “I am pleased to announce that the Ministry has made significant progress on the National Specialist Skills Training Centre funded by the World Bank. The construction of phase one commenced in January 2024 and is expected to be completed by October of this year.”
“Furthermore, we are actively engaging the World Bank and other health development partners to secure additional funding for phase two of the project, ensuring the successful completion of this landmark project.”
