The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif has congratulated the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for his re-election as the President of the West African Football Union (WAFU Zone B).
The GFA President paid a visit to the Minister in Accra to officially inform him of his re-election.
“On behalf of the President of the Republic Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, the good people of Ghana and on my own behalf, let me congratulate my brother Kurt Okraku for this wonderful achievement again,” the Minister said.
Mustapha Ussif insisted he was confident that Okraku would be retained as president given the work he had done for Ghana football.
“In fact, I had no doubt at all that the entire WAFU Zone B would give him another term because of what I have seen him do in Ghana,” he said.
“Together we have worked so hard in this country so when he took the mantle to serve the remaining term of the previous President, he exhibited commitment, hard work and dedication to the WAFU community and I didn’t have any doubt that when the time comes again for them to look for a new leader, they were going to overwhelmingly endorse him’. We know you are going to make us proud, you’re an ambassador of the country. You have the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the entire country.”
Also present at the meeting was the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, Evans Bobie, the Chief Director of the Youth and Sports Ministry, Alhaji Hafiz Adam, the Director of Marketing of the GFA, Jamil Maraby and the GFA’s Director of Communications, Henry Asante Twum.
