Stonebwoy Signs Mega Deal with Universal Music Group
Ghanaian Dancehall and Reggae artiste, Stonebwoy has signed a deal with Universal Music Group.
He becomes the second Ghana-based artiste after Singer and Songwriter, Cina Soul to be signed by one of the world’s largest music companies.
The label will market, promote and distribute the works of the “Enku Lenu” hitmaker around the world.
Tho there has been some assertions from the public as to his end of contract with ZYLOFON Music, the explanations has been that, he is still under the umbrella of ZYLOFON Music and that the newly sign deal is adding up to rather distribution of her products.
The deal was announced at an event in Nigeria on Tuesday, July 17 to officially launch the company and introduce the team to manage the operations of the company in West Africa.
This means a lot to the artists, as well as his fans and the general public as the hardwork of the musician has been recognized by a highly respected entity to get him on board for distribution of his products.
The deal adds to Stonebwoy’s career highlights in the past year.
His 2017 album “Epistles of Mama” peaked at number 13 on the Billboard World Charts. It is the first album by a Ghana-based Ghanaian artiste to achieve that record based on sales compiled by Nielsen Music.
Stonebwoy became the second Ghanaian Grammy nominee after an album he was featured on earned a nomination at the 2018 Grammys.
Stonebwoy has been the only Ghanaian and African artiste to perform at the 2018 SummerJam, an European Reggae and Dancehall festival.
