Stop comparing your ‘useless’ gov’t to Nkrumah – Mahama warns Akufo-Addo appointees

The Flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Former President John Dramani Mahama has served notice to communicators in the Akufo-Addo led administration to desist from the continuous comparison of their administration to that of the country’s first president, Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Education minister, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh among other Ministers of the NPP government have in recent times said the performance of the Akufo-Addo-led administration has outperformed successive administrations since independence.

The minister in March this year, made a similar comment when his administration distributed pick up trucks and motorcycles to directors of education and circuit supervisors at the Black Star Square.

Addressing Ashaiman Divisional Chiefs, the former President described the governance of Nkrumah as the best in Ghana’s democratic history adding that, what the current government is good at is just propaganda because they are bad at execution.

He said “what’s left with them is propaganda. All we promised has been fulfilled, we are the best government since independence. The governance of Kwame Nkrumah cannot be compared to this mediocre government. They shouldn’t compare their useless government to that of the Nkrumah’s government,

“If you want to do comparison compare your office with John Mahama. Don’t do any comparison with the record of JJ Rawlings, Kufour or Mills. I’m here, I did four years so if you want to do any comparison do it with me. Let’s sit down and compare our records too you said you won’t come.
