SPARE PARTS dealers at the Suame Magazine in Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capita have been cautioned against selling fake goods to the public.
Nana Oppong, the National Vice Chairman of the Garages Association, who issued the strong warning in Kumasi recently, said he was aware that some foreigners were selling fake goods to unsuspecting buyers, and said the culprits would be dealt with when caught.
He noted that the weird development had the potential of ruining the spare parts business in the country.
“Fake car parts get destroyed few weeks after they’d been fixed in a car and that is very bad. Spare parts dealers should therefore always sell genuine car parts to unsuspecting buyers”, he said.
Nana Oppong said if dealers insist on selling genuine parts “it will put the fake dealers among them out of business”.
Speaking on Nhyira FM, he said: “These foreigners who deal in fake parts will be out of business if you sell genuine parts.”
