THE GENERAL Secretary of Asante Youth Association (AYA), Tweneboa Kodua, has lambasted Kwabena Nsenkyire, the Ashanti Regional NADMO Boss, for what he described as a plot to undermine the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi.
Without mincing words, he said Nsenkyire, who is also the Ashanti Regional first vice Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is on a diabolic mission to kick the mayor out of office.
Tweneboa Kodua, who is also a leading NPP member, having contested and lost the party’s national organizer position to Sammi Awuku, has vowed to expose Nsenkyire if he dared continue to sabotage the mayor.
False Accusations
Nsenkyire is on record to have alleged that Osei Assibey was responsible for the recent Trinity Gas Station explosion at Krofrom in Kumasi, where two people lost their lives and several others sustained injuries.
But contrary to his claims, preliminary investigations by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) and the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), has revealed that the explosion was sparked by a repair work at the station.
Before this incident, Nsenkyire had blamed the KMA boss for the collapse of an old building at Kwadaso. He also accused the Kumasi Mayor when there was a fire outbreak at the Kumasi Central Market. In all these instances Nsenkyire could not back his accusations with hard evidence.
Tweneboa Kodua said he didn’t understand why Nsenkyire, who is also an assembly member of the KMA, always tried to push the blame on Osei Assibey whenever there was disaster in Kumasi.
According to him, if Nsenkyire has any concerns, he should use the assembly’s internal mechanisms to vent his opinions, instead of jumping to radio stations to blame the mayor.
“What at all does Nsenkyire want from Osei Assibey”, he asked during an interview with THE PUBLISHER. He stressed that any attempt by Nsenkyire to make the mayor unpopular would not work.
“Enough is enough, Nsenkyire should concentrate on working to avert disaster as NADMO boss and stop the hatred he has against Osei Assibey”, he said, adding that AYA and Asanteman is proud of Osei Assibey’s good works, so far.
