Support Menzgold to Grow – Moshie Chief tells Gov’t
THE PUI Naaba (Protocol Officer) of the Moshie Community in the Ashanti Region, Muftawu Issaka Kotoko, has tasked government to create an enabling environment to help protect MenzGold, a private firm, to grow.
According to him, MensGold, owned by Nana Appiah Mensah, a Ghanaian business mogul, has contributed significantly to develop the country’s economy and also helped to provide jobs for several unemployed people.
He stated that the government and state institutions should play leading roles so as to ensure that Menzgold and all other Ghanaian owned businesses are protected to develop to boost the economy.
The Pui Naaba was of the view that the private sector is playing a crucial role to compliment government’s effort to develop the country’s economy, especially, with regards to providing jobs for the unemployed citizens.
Issaka Kotoko, who is a business magnate and a key player in the estate development industry in the country, expressed gross concern about how Ghanaian-owned businesses are not protected to develop to their full level.
The Pui Naaba, who is much respected and adored by Muslim youth in the Ashanti region and beyond, said people in respectable positions, should know that the private sector is the main drivers of the economy all over world now.
The Protocol Officer of the Moshie Community in the Region was delivering an address during a prayer and fasting on the day of Arafah for Muslims in the city that could not travel to the holy city of Mecca to perform Hajj, this year.
Continuing, he said “The increasing confidence which the public appears to be reposing in Mensgold and her products must be protected, while the innovative business model engineered by the company is aided to grow”.
The Pui Naaba also charged parliamentarians to take up the task of protecting Ghanaian-owned businesses to develop, saying that the august House ought to enact laws that would offer protection to Ghanaian firms to rise and shine.
He used the occasion to admonish Muslims to display love and care to their fellow human beings, especially Muslims who are poor, during the Eid-Ul-Adha festival, so that they can also enjoy like any other Muslim.
