Suspected thief beaten to death

A SUSPECTED robber has left the world on a sad note after he was lynched by an angry mob at Atonsu Kuwait New Site in the Greater Kumasi.

On one has owned up to admit being a part of the mob that beat the suspected thief but everyone in the area claims the man as beaten by a mob.

A house in the area was quiet around 12 midnight and the suspected thief reportedly took advantage to sneak into the house, ostensibly to rob the inhabitants, who were asleep then.

Unknown to the male intruder, believed to be 24 years old, one of the tenants in the house he entered had seen his uninvited entry at that unholy hour.

Alarm was eventually blown, attracting the attention of some youth in the area, who gave the robber a wild chase until they caught up and beat his life out of him.

The incident, which happened on May 21, 2021 was reported to the police, but by the time the police reached the scene, the robber had been killed already.

“Police proceeded to the crime scene at Atonsu-Kuwai Newsite and saw a dead body of a male adult age about 24 years, naked lying supine”, said a police report.

The report disclosed that there were bruises and cuts all over the body of the unknown robber. The body had since been sent to a morgue for autopsy and preservation.

No arrest had been made yet in connection with the lynching yet but the police has given the assurance to work and bring the perpetrators to book very soon.
