MANAF IBRAHIM, aide to Vice President Dr. Bawumia, who was disqualified from the Asawase constituency parliamentary race and suspended indefinitely from the New Patriotic Party, seems not ready to give up his mission of running on the ticket of the party, and has reportedly intensified his campaign in the constituency.
The Ashanti Regional NPP on Sunday disqualified Manaf from the Asawase parliamentary primaries, after he had been vetted on Saturday. The party also suspended him indefinitely for gross misconduct.
But days after the suspension was slapped on him, several campaign vehicles of Ibrahim, with his pictures and the party’s insignia embossed on them, are seen traversing the constituency, creating public awareness of his ambition.
Reliable sources told THE NEW PUBLISHER the Veep’s aide still believes that he is eligible to take part in the upcoming primaries and is not perturbed about the party’s decision to disqualify.
They said they would not be surprised if he decides to drag the Ashanti Regional executives to court one of these days.
Meanwhile, political watchers and party stalwarts in the region have expressed shock at Manaf’s intransigence
