Tafo/Pankrono Backs MP After Delta Force Attack
THE ENTIRE executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Tafo/Pankrono Constituency have affirmed their unalloyed support for their Member of Parliament (MP), Dr. Anthony Akoto Osei.
The open declaration of support for the lawmaker by the party’s executives comes few days after the Delta Force, a vigilante group in the NPP, tried to attack Dr. Akoto Osei.
Addressing a press conference at Tafo on Thursday, Moses Kwame Donkor, the Tafo/Pankrono NPP Constituency Chairman, said the party supports the MP, and debunked reports that Dr. Akoto Osei was not doing enough to transform the constituency and its people.
Kwame Donkor said violence, such as what happened in the area on Sunday, is alien to the NPP at Tafo/Pankrono, saying “The party is therefore condemning the attack by the group on Sunday in no certain terms”.
He disclosed that the MP had helped to secure jobs for 350 people through NABCO, secured another 137 for Youth in Community Police and 150 for the Youth in Afforestation programme, among others.
Donkor also said the MP had dug three mechanized boreholes at three senior high schools in the area, constructed toilet projects, renovated the Tafo Sakasaka Park into a modern mini stadium, and also renovated the Old Tafo Central Mosque, just to mention a few.
The NPP chairman said anybody that would accuse Akoto Osei of not doing enough to transform the area, is just playing mischief, noting that the party and the entire constituency support the MP.
Meanwhile, there was tight security at the NPP office, the venue of the press conference on Thursday morning. Armed police men were seen at vantage points at the party’s office premises.
