Four members of the Kandahar boys who were arrested in connection with the attacks on the Chief Executive Officer of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr. David A. Akolbila have been released for the police for lack of identification.
Information available to this portal indicates that, the Tamale Teaching Hospital CEO , Dr. David Akolbila could not identified any of the boys arrested.
Earlier, the leadership of the Kandahar Boys at a press conference disassociate themselves from the Monday attacks on the TTH, reiterated that, those arrested by the police are innocent.
Addressing to the media, Baba Mohammed Shamsudeen a member of the group appeal to the Northern Regional Commander to release their members, saying the group has total confidence in the police in arresting the real perpetrators of the crime.
“We continue to condemn act and disassociate ourselves from actions of such, like any well meaning Ghanaian”. – he said.
According to him, his group has no hand in the attack that occurred at the hospital.
In protest, the health workers of the hospital also declared a strike.
The workers say they no longer feel safe in the hospital after Monday’s incident.
The attackers are believed to be members of a vigilante group affiliated to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
