Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE Donates Furniture to Schools

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality, Gilbert Ken Asmah, has donated 200 dual desks, 100 mono desks, 50 teachers table and 8 hexagonal tables to 18 basic schools in the Municipality.

This, according to him, is to address the shortage of furniture in the basic schools.

Presenting the furniture to the Municipal Education Directorate for distribution, he said “The gesture is meant to end the insufficient or lack of tables and chairs…the situation which has created discomfort to some of the school children.”

The beneficiary institutions include Abompuniso, Mahamo, Akoon M/A, Wassa Agona, Nyanso Nkran M/A, Atuabo Anglican, GREL, Jerusalem, Dompim Methodist, Tetrem.

The rest are Atuabo community, Atuabo John Taylor, Essumang kakraba, Akyempim, Nsuta Dadwen, Nkran Nyanso Islamic, Hooper memorial and Nsuaem Methodist basic schools respectively.

He assured that the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipality Assembly will do its maximum best to enhance effective teaching and learning atmosphere, and called on teachers and parents to give him the needed cooperation and support to deliver more.

Gilbert Asmah further urged the school heads to ensure proper handling and maintenance of the furniture.

Touching on the President’s achievements, the MCE observed that “Akufo-Addo was so much obsessed about education, thus the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy and the payment of BECE registration fees for the thousands of candidates who just completed Junior High School, a move which has since received commendation locally and globally.”

The Municipal Education Director, Mr. Alex K Duah, receiving the desks, said the gestures would go a long way to support the schools for enhance teaching and learning atmosphere.

He commended the Tarkwa-Nsuaem MCE for his commitment and readiness towards the education fortunes in the Municipality and further promised to give him all the cooperation and support.
