Tepa Hospital project to be operational March 2020
Euroget De-Invest, contractors working on the new Tepa Government Hospital project, have given the assurance that the project would be completed by December this year and handed over to government in March next year.
Mr. Khalid Ahmed, the Resident Engineer told the Minister of Health, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu that, work on the main project would be completed in December, this year after which testing of installed equipment and fittings, would commence.
He made this known when the Minister visited the site of the project to inspect the progress of work as part of his four-day working visit to the Ashanti Region.
Mr. Ahmed was optimistic that they could finish within schedule, having resolved issues of tax exemptions which had delayed the clearance of their equipment at the port.
The Minister who was impressed with the work done so far charged the contractors to stick to the schedule to make it operational.
He said it was the wish of government to see the completion of the project which would improve health care delivery in the area.
He debunked claims that government had shown little commitment to the completion of projects started by the previous administration, saying that the presence of the contractors on site was a testimony.
Government, he said, would not trivialize the health needs of the people for the sake of politics and deliberately abandon such important projects to the detriment of the very people who gave them the mandate to govern.
He therefore urged the people in the Ahafo Ano North Municipality to disregard such baseless accusations as the Ministry would not relent in its effort to ensure that the project was successfully completed.
The Minister had earlier visited the Tepa Nurses Training College and the District Hospital, where he inspected on-going projects.
He also called on the Chief of Tepa, Nana Adusei Atwenewa Ampem at his palace and discussed issues bothering on the hospital project, the existing hospital and the nurses training college.
