Chief Executive of the De-Graft Johnson Foundation, Mr. Richmond De-Graft Johnson has donated an undisclosed amount of money to the mother of a 14-year-old physically challenged girl in Accra.
The donation Mr. De-Graft Johnson, aka Papa Richie said is to serve as startup capital for the fruit seller, Comfort Toku in order for her to be financially independent while taking care of the child, Hannah Toku.
He believes the gesture is in line with the Foundation’s mission of sharing hope for the vulnerable in the community.
The Host of the De-Graft Johnson Show on Tumpaani TV and CEO of Absolute Brand Media, an advertising and events promotion agency assured that the Foundation would strive to live up to its vision.
The donation comes days after the Foundation announced a sponsorship package for Justice Larbi, a 17 –year-old speech impaired boy at Apredi in the Eastern Region.
The boy, a form three Student of the Presbyterian Junior High School would receive a monthly stipend from the Foundation for his entire life.
Speaking to The New Publisher at the donation to the family of Hannah in Ashongman, a suburb of Accra, the Radio and Television Personality urged the public to assist the activities of the Foundation in kind and in cash.
“I urge corporate Ghana, civil society groups, churches, NGO’s, Fan Clubs and others to support us to bless others…that help is very crucial and can save someone from a bad situation” he stated.
Papa Richie disclosed that the Foundation is set to launch its Operation 50 Crutches And 20 Wheel Chairs Campaign in an effort to secure those walking aids for the people who need it.
Mrs. Toku who received the items on behalf of her daughter thanked the Foundation and tasked all to support its vision and mandate.
Items donated to Hannah include a brand new wheel chair with removal chamber pot, soft drinks, biscuits, toiletries, diapers, books among others.
