Highlife singer, Kwabena Kwabena is well known for his love songs which has earned him a lot of fans, especially females.
However, his personal life has not followed the way of his songs like Do No Bi, Me Ne Woa, Meye, Royal Lady and many others.
His first marriage crashed after a few years over several allegations including infidelity.
He found love with Abena Owusuaa who he wed in 2010 but after six years together, that marriage also collapsed and it played out in the media in an ugly way.
His marital issues and rumours about him and women have led to a seeming disaffection for him by his female fan base.
Some music lovers also believe his popularity has gone down because of the scandals.
But the Aso hitmaker disputes this. In a chat with Showbiz on Saturday, Kwabena Kwabena said the ladies still have love for him.
“That’s not true, my female following has even multiplied. You should have been at the MTN Music Festival held in Kumasi recently, it was amazing.
“I have done Obaa for the ladies and they love it. Every lady whose name is captured there loves the song and it is doing so well,” he said.
On why he sings love songs but doesn’t live it he said, “You need to get close to people to give a good account of who they really are.
I am who I am and I try very hard to be a nice person to who I am with,” he stated.
Rumours of a relationship between Kwabena Kwabena and his manager, Metro TV’s Frema Adunyame have circulated since last year.
There have even been some reports that the two will be tying the knot soon but the Adult Music singer insists he is single.
“Frema has been my manager for over a decade now and people always see us driving around to meetings and other engagements.
People have their own perceptions but she is a close and great friend apart from the fact that she is my manager.
“I am single and ready to mingle, I have been divorced for two years so you see, I am really searching.”
Kwabena Kwabena released his fourth album Ahyesi late last year and according to him, it is doing very well.
“Already there are five radio hits off the 10-track album. I am not coming out with anything anytime soon because I want my fans to really enjoy the songs for sometime before I release anything,” he said.
He had a word of advice for his fans saying, “Trust in the one who created you, in everything that you do, trust in Him.
We all need to be careful, remember you only live once,” he stated.
