The President’s Bodyguard is an intriguing piece. It is an extraordinary piece that is carefully crafted to reflect politics, the human society, human character and the uncertainties of life.
Typically, the story presents the African society and politics. It is the kind of story that leaves no opportunity for boredom as it easily arouses the emotions of its reader, who is drawn into the society and the events the story presents. As you read the story, your heart beats faster and harder, you are arrested by the fear of the unknown and you feel as though everything is happening to you or people close to you.
The events woven in this web of a story all seem real. The assassinations, the secrets, the betrayals, the victimisations, the threats, the escapes, the deaths, the evil, the love, the joy, the pain, the rescue and so on are carefully woven and presented in The President’s Bodyguard.
It is difficult, if not impossible, for the reader of The President’s Bodyguard to predict the events in this piece. The reader only gets caught up by the surprises. The author also makes the reader easily fall in love with some of the characters, making the reader feel the characters’ joy as well as their pain.
This story, in the end, leaves no question unanswered. The story presents today and predicts the future, making its lessons relevant for today and tomorrow.
