Togbe Afede Calls For “Unity and Love” For Asogli
Togbe Afede XIV, Agbogbomefia of Asogli and President of National House of Chiefs has charged Asogli youth to unite and demonstrate “genuine love” for the Asogli State.
He asked them to eschew jealousy, pettiness, greed and seek the good of each other for rapid socio-economic growth.
Togbe Afede said this in an interaction with Asogli Youth in Ho, to account for his stewardship and discuss development of the State.
He said the chiefs and leaders of the Asogli State had done their best over the years to position the area for growth but bad attitude and “dislike for one’s own” had slowed progress.
Togbe Afede said efforts to develop museums and palace on Galenku Hills, Asogli Community Bank, Volta Forum Trust, Volta Development Fund and other initiatives failed for lack of commitment and called for attitudinal change.
He said plans were afoot to establish a pilot training school and an aircraft maintenance and repairs centre at the Ho Airport and called for support.
Togbe Afede said the Asogli Education Fund with over GHC400,000 had benefitted 1,350 students and urged the youth to take education seriously, persevere and be innovative.
During open forum, some youth commended the Agbogbomefia for efforts at developing the State and the Volta Region and urged him to revive collapsed initiatives and involve the youth in their implementation.
The youth forum is expected to be an annual event to track development in the Asogli State.
