Tony Yeboah ‘Mad’ Over Death Rumour
FORMER BLACK Stars striker, Tony Yeboah, is extremely angry about reports that he had kicked the bucket.
“I am not dead, I am alive”, he stated. “In fact, people who have started circulating false death reports in this country should stop that because it is not nice”.
Since Monday, reports that Tony had joined his ancestors started spreading like wild fire on some social media platforms. The news, which went viral on Facebook and WhatsApp, said he died in the United States (US).
However, in an angry reaction, Tony Yeboah said he was not even sick, and expressed surprise that some faceless people could be spreading such false reports about him.
“This thing is not nice at all. They started with Abedi Pele, then Otumfuo, and now it is about Tony Yeboah. This is very bad”, he charged.
According to him, he is in Ghana and wondered how he could have died in the U.S. He disclosed that his wife broke the hoax news to him after she saw it on social media.
The ex-international goal poacher noted that usually, people who are rumoured to be dead turn out to live longer on earth, saying; “that is what will happen to me”.
During his hey days in the early 1990s, Tony Yeboah won the German Bundesliga Goal King award on two successive seasons.
He plied his trade with clubs such as Eintracht Frankfurt and Hamburg in Germany, and Leeds United in the English Premiership.
