Black Satellites of Ghana has exited the Total U-20 Africa Cup of Nations following a 1-0 defeat against Mali on Saturday at the Stade General Seyni Kountche in Niamey.
Ghana lost its last Group B match to end their dreams of making it to the FIFA U-20 to be held in Poland this year.
Mali who finished second in Group B with 6 points snatched the three points in the 53rd minute courtesy of Hadji Drame wonder goal.
Jimmy Cobblah’s side needed a win or a draw to stand a chance of making the last four and qualifying for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland but they were denied by Mali who needed the maximum points to confirm their place.
Ghana finished third on the Group B log with three points with Senegal topping the group followed by Mali.
Africa will thus be represented by Senegal, Mali, Nigeria and South Africa in the 2019 U-20 World Cup in Poland.
