The Eastern Regional Center for National Culture is gradually taking shape after many years of abandonment.
The Koforidua Center for National Culture (CNC) was left uncompleted after roofing but currently, finishing touches is underway to enhance it’s beautification ahead of this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC 2018).
The abandoned facility which began in 1964 by Kwame Nkrumah was adopted by a renowned international Prophet and a Pastor with the Assemblies of God Church, Albert Asihene-Arjarquah, founder of Prophet Albert Asihene-Arjarquah Ministry (PAAAM) for his none denominational prayer programs for the past four years.
The place further gain recognition after the fellowship drew popular preachers including Rev Dr. Lawrence Tetteh, Prophet Akwesi Agyeman Prempeh, Prophet Kofi Danso, Prophet Nigel Gaisie, Apostle Psalm Okpe, Prophet Ogyaba, Prophet Samuel Addison, among others.
The complex is almost complete with a 1,500-seater theatre, craft shops and offices for both staff of the Centre for National Culture and artistic groups in the region.
The Eastern Regional Theatre will be the venue for this year’s National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFAC 2018).
This was disclosed by the Regional Director for National Culture, Mr. Stephen Sedofu, when the Minister for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs Catherine Abelema Afeku, paid a surprise visit to ascertain progress of work.

Mr Sefofu assured the nation that the complex would be ready for NAFAC, which comes off in Koforidua from November 16 to November 24. He said he was more than satisfied with the rate of work by the contractor, adding that “work goes on even at weekends.”
Meanwhile, the painting of the place could be attributed to the fact that the Region will be hosting the National Cultural Festival come November this year.
